- Your problem sounds like a problem with contact of some sort.
- The most likely suspects would be socketed chips.
- I would suspect fast RAM. Particularly ZIPs.

- When I put ZIPs in A3000s I check every pin with a 30x
- microscope to make absolutely sure all is secure.

- A second, more elusive scenario then presents itself, a partial connect with
- enough mass to respond to system jarring. It could even be a partially
- soldered connector, a hair-line fracture of the mother board or other defect.

- My A3000 had two pins on the FPU bent slightly together, when I tweaked the
- leads to be inline with all the other pins, my random lockup disappeared.
